Role: CNC Turning Operator
Overview
The CNC Turning Operator produces precision aerospace components by operating CNC turning machines within the Electro-Methods Lean manufacturing flow line.
Operators perform value-added machining operations while following standardized work instructions and ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and aerospace quality standards. Working within a Lean production environment, CNC Turning Operators help maintain continuous production flow by monitoring machining processes, identifying abnormalities, and preventing defects from moving downstream.

Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC lathes and turning centers.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
- Monitor machining operations and adjust offsets as required.
- Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools.
- Document production activity in accordance with AS9100 requirements.
- Identify machine or process abnormalities and escalate as needed.
- Maintain organized and clean work areas in accordance with 5S principles.
- Operates other equipment in the cell as necessary to keep product flowing at takt.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years CNC turning experience.
- Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measurement tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace machining experience.
- Familiarity with Fanuc CNC controls.
- Experience with multi-axis turning equipment.
Physical Requirements
- Standing for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting up to 40 - 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity required for handling small precision parts.
Work Environment
Precision machining environment with exposure to machine tools, cutting fluids, and production equipment.
