Title: Information Technology Manager – Infrastructure and Compliance
Location: Electro-Methods Inc. — South Windsor, CT
Reports To: Vice President, Finance
Position Overview:
Electro-Methods, a Stronvar Aerospace company, is seeking an IT Manager to oversee and modernize the company’s information technology infrastructure, applications, and data management systems. Reporting to the VP Finance, this role ensures secure, efficient, and reliable technology operations across the enterprise while enabling data-driven decision making, compliance with customer and regulatory requirements, and alignment with Electro-Methods’ growth and Lean transformation.
The IT Manager will balance hands-on technical leadership with strategic planning, vendor management, and cross-functional partnership, ensuring IT capabilities fully support operations, finance, engineering, and customer delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Technology Infrastructure & Operations
- Manage day-to-day IT operations, including servers, networks, cloud services, hardware, and end-user support.
- Ensure system uptime, cybersecurity safeguards, data integrity, and disaster recovery readiness.
Strategic IT Leadership
- Partner with VP Finance and IT Manager – ERP Systems to align IT investments with company growth, cost control, and value-creation priorities.
- Assess current systems and recommend upgrades, replacements, or process automations to improve efficiency and support Lean initiatives.
- Lead all non-ERP projects for system integrations, upgrades, and new application rollouts.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Maintain robust cybersecurity posture aligned to NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology), CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification), and customer/DoD (Department of Defense) requirements.
- Implement controls to safeguard sensitive data (aerospace IP, customer information, financial data).
- Coordinate with Quality and Operations to ensure IT systems comply with AS9100 and other regulatory standards.
Vendor & Budget Management
- Manage non-ERP IT vendor relationships (hardware/software providers MSPs, vendors).
- Develop and track IT budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements in partnership with Finance.
Team Leadership & Support
- Provide guidance and mentorship to IT support staff or contractors.
- Foster a customer-focused IT culture that supports manufacturing, engineering, and administrative users.
- Deliver timely and clear communication on system issues, changes, and upgrades.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum 7–10 years of IT experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Demonstrated experience with network administration, cloud services (Microsoft 365, Azure), and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Proven ability to manage IT budgets, vendors, and system projects.
Preferred
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (NIST 800-171, CMMC, ITAR).
- Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) or IT certifications (CISSP, CISM, MCSE, CCNA).
- Ability to support a hands-on, fast-paced private equity-backed business undergoing Lean transformation.
